DDR Chip with same memory capacity but different die configurations

Hi
I have a doubt. I have 2 different DDR chips of micron technology with each capable of 4GB capacity with dual channel. But both have different die configurations. One have 2 die and the another one have 4 die. Which one should I select? What is the role of die here?
